WoW Jewelcrafting Guide 1-450

by Spiph

This WoW guide (up-to-date for patch 3.3) will cover training your Jewelcrafting levels from 1 to 450 and what to make while leveling Jewelcrafting in World of Warcraft. Jewelcrafting is a primary profession (of which you can only choose two at any point in the game) and allows your character to create a variety of items such as necklaces, rings and trinkets as well as gems for socketed items. Jewelcrafting complements the Mining profession very well, as Mining can provide many of the raw materials required for Jewelcrafting. This guide focuses on making the training path easier by using designs that can be learned from Jewelcrafting trainers and designs with the most easily obtained materials. It also looks to make the items that will prove most cost effective at each stage.

Jewelcrafting was introduced with The Burning Crusade expansion and the races (Blood Elves and Drenai) introduced with this expansion have a distinct advantage when it comes to learning Jewelcrafting, as theirs are the only starting zones with Jewelcrafting trainers. Alliance players wanting to learn Jewelcrafting will need to travel to the The Exodar and Horde players will need to travel to Silvermoon.

Prospecting

The gems required for Jewelcrafting are usually found at varying frequencies when mining mineral nodes. Jewelcrafting also provides an additional option for acquiring gems known as Prospecting. 5 ore of the same type are consumed by each Prospecting attempt and results in 1-3 gems being discovered. No Jewelcrafting levels are gained from Prospecting.

This is a great guide, fastest way to level JC from 1-450 if you have the money. If you don’t, too bad, do it anyways. Kudos to whoever made this.

I usually don’t leave comments in websites…but this guide helped me level pretty fast! I also used the Enchanting guide and it was flawless. Thank you!

Just wanted to say your guide is really great but wanted to let you know that personally from 351-375 i found it much faster and cheaper to just make all the different stones that you just picked up from the trainer. I was also wondering if you had any percentages at all on the prospects of titanium ore would just be really nice to know but if you dont i understand and its cool but again i still say your guide is really great and thank you for making it.

You are a God-send! I presently have BS and mining for professions, and before i dropped mining for JC I wanted to be sure to have squirelled away enough bars and ore and such to level it painlessly (IE: spending a lot of gold). Thanks to this guide, i know what I need. Thanks so much!

This is a fantastic guide! The only thing that would’ve made it better and easier to use is a condensed mats list, showing total quantities of each item needed, so the powerlevelers know exactly how many of each bar, gem, misc item should be needed.
I add my “THANKS!” to all of the above.
